You decide if this is a silly rumour or not.

If true, that would be an awesome combination. I'm a Waldorf owner and love them. I'd like to see Nord with that technology. I would love to see them resurrect the Q and Microwave XT, but I guess that would be wishful thinking.

Moved to the new Waldorf forum.

My guess is it is false. But, you never know until you know...

I've decided that this is a silly rumour Smile

Still dying to find out for real... In the mean time my cyber-shaman rituals goes towards ensuring that that this will not be the mode of apparition known as "Former synth company coming back to haunt us as a plugin shop, possibly with a proprietary soundcard". That would be no fun. No fun at all. Twisted Evil

So hear me, yea ghosts of Waldorf, give us something tangible (only not another AFB)!

On the waldorf mailinglist it is stated that the takeover company isn't Clavia nor Access. Boohoo, I wished for Clavia Crying or Very sad

Yes, it was a rumor.
But check the holder of this domain name:
http://www.waldorfmusic.de (and spot the new name there).

OK - a quick search...

This yields:

gives us this:
domain: waldorfmusic.de
domain-ace: waldorfmusic.de
descr: Joachim Flor
descr: Finca Cruz Alta
descr: 38640 Arona
descr: ES

Mr. Flor is boss of Hartmann.

Mr. Flor also appears in conjunction with this place.

Note the:

"http://www.novationmusic.com/p ...
... weitere Produkte von Handelsagentur Joachim Flor!"

This leaves three vague possibilities:

1: Hartman is the new owner of Waldorf, but what's the state of Hartmann? Weren't they kind of bust...

2: Joachim Flor is reatarting Waldorf as Waldorf

3: Novation has something to do with it.

Please help me speculate further! Very Happy

This was posted on the mailinglist:

Quote:
Joachim Flor also was the sales manager for Waldorf at least in Germany
and I think he was not an employee of either company. At least he
always operated via his own "Handelsagentur" (sales agency). I don't
think Hartmann Music has anything to do with the deal (not as a company
anyway), but we shall see.

Would be a bit strange for an insolvent company to take over another, wouldn't it? Probably mr. Flor is a clever business guy who has arranged matters nicely so that he does not go down himself when any of his businesses do.

Yeah, in this case a wild and crazy rumour turns out to be true. Wonder how it measures up to Waldorf stuff when it comes out.

Yeah, Nord filters compliment Q oscillators very well, I leave my MicroQ plugged into the back of my Modular G2. The LFOs in the G2 can send to the Q so you have unlimited LFOs on the Q and badass wavetables for the Modular.
