"Taking its features and foibles into account, I can sum up how I feel about the Andromeda best by saying that I'm parting with my own money to keep this one. I know some of you out there think that us FM contributors live a charmed life with hardware piled-up in the corner of the studio. But sadly this isn't the case and I don't want to see this go. It may be not a vintage Moog, Oberheim, Prophet, Korg or Roland, but it can do much more than most of your so-called classics put together. Andromeda is potential studio workhorse and is an inspiration to play."

Sorry guys, I said it won't be available for a long time Sad
If you want to read whole review go and get a September copy of Future Music.

That's odd. They've reviewed it again? Edit: Ah, just to show that the new build works. This is, in effect, customer support.

The last time, when it was released, they gave it 10/10 and a Platinum Award. Glad someone is still enjoying it, even long after it's become lived-with, overhyped, and slagged.

Hm, yes, that's really odd: reviewing same product for a second time. It looks to me like Alesis/Numark wanted to show they finally solved all problems with Andromeda (tuning and chip issues, etc) and they obviously made a deal with Future Music (maybe with more of them, we'll see). Anyway, I've got this "2007 model" and I can only agree with reviewer: everything's working fine, no problem at all Smile

Hi Pophertz

The Prophet is on it's way.

I will lay some sonic on you guys as soon as it lands.

In the mean time, I will continue to slag Alesis' inability to produce a tangible product.

Sorry if I'm rubbing you A6 owners the wrong way.

But those dudes have done me wrong.

I think I will buy a couple of U87 Neumann's to drown my sorrow.

Mars is laughing maniacally!

I hate to be a wet blanket but wouldn't this article be subject to copywrite?

Is saving a few people the cost of buying a copy of the mag worth risking electro-music being shut down?

It's really not worth that kind of risk. Review is no more available.

Hey g2ian

Stop being a wet blanket!

Some people can't get that rag here.

Chill my man.

Mars thinks Alesis are sucking ass!

Seven months to get an A6 and a review eight years after the fact?

Alesis should get out of the business.

They are pissing people off, like me.

I know they can't produce this axe. The same as their other synths which are falling by the wayside. The Fusion's ongoing problems for example. You can't give those suckers away.

Mars is touching a nerve I think

You never know with Alesis Smile
But I want to know are there any hardware differences (different chip or else) between the latest A6 series and the previous ones that made them so reliable now?

Good question. Don't know, maybe someone with more experience can figure it out from a serial number Smile
