Way too embarrassed to even think about posting the "to do" pile.
Am working on the definitive front panel method first...
But that's the nice thing about a hobby as opposed to work - there's no a***hole of a manager insisting it needs to be sent out/be fully working, tested and all shiny *like, now!* despite the fact that you're still awaiting delivery of crucial parts......
The pointy haired boss from the Dilbert cartoons is funny, because unfortunately he exists. Everywhere. (Except on this forum)
cheers,

that's what I did in the early 80's, too many circuits rested in the drawer.
Ouh - and there are still some complete kits (untouched) from that time - Doepfer MCV and MTG, never got the time to work on.
Today, when I work on one module, I finish it.
Nevertheless, etching and *buying* pcbs I plan ahead.
So there are some pcbs lying around ... CGS tube vca, CGS wavefolder, jh-tau, wogglebug, some of my own developments.
Currently I'm working on 2164 vca and pan. Boards are finished, waiting for drilling the frontpanels. |

same here.
i got several PCBs in the drawer i wouldn't call backlog. maybe i will never build them! i bought them and then lost interest. if i only wanted a modular i would have bought one - so actually the diy building is the thing. i bought these PCBs (no fancy designs) when i was not able to etch myself.
so now as soon as i start a project i finish it before starting a new one. okay, there might be two or three projects in parallel but nothing i get lost in... _________________

well, this is a good kick-in-th-rear. this year especially has brought an embarrassment of riches, and the list of pcbs/kits would be too horrendous to contemplate... but here what's actively on the bench an being worked on:
Electronotes digital random (recirculating shift registers)
Ian Fritz's 5Pulsar waveshape and Sample&Hold
CGS Pulse divider
XR VCOs (x3)
Ciat lonbarde "Aluminum Phosphate Crystal Simulation"
Wogglebugs
MFOS Noise, VCO (X2), Phaser
Grant Richter Analog tracking generator
There's a big slot left open for the Klees when they get here.
i've said it before--this is th golden age of sdiy

I LOVE MY BACKLOG
It gives me plenty to look forward to, and I intend for it to get deeper an deeper so long as I can afford it. Of course I would love to have all of it done and flickering away, but you can bet I would be raising my eyebrow at the next offering in the JH pipeline. |

yes and no. i made the i/o board myself but had troubles aligning top and bottom layer of the mainboard.
after failing once i just bought the mainboard in ladyadas shop - there is no waiting list for a naked board...
i dont recommend selfsourcing parts for the x0xb0x though: it takes lots of patience and work to get them all and also you have to worry about a case and frontpanel.
if i wanted to build a third x0x i'd probably just get on the waiting list again. |

lol.. for someone that's been doing this so short a time (3 mo) I have a stupidly big backlog, owing to the fact that I went at this hard, buying tons of pcbs and parts at a go, and am still working through everything, and learning as I go.
* Denotes pcb done and ready for panel, pots, etc
Otherwise, in various stages of buildage...
CGS:
CGS23 >CV Mega Mixer*
CGS30 >Band pass filter*
CGS65 >Tube VCA*
CGS21 >Super Psycho Modulation source.*
CGS29 >Wave Multiplier*
CGS57 >Bi-N-Tic Filter
CGS01 >Sub oscillator*
CGS48 >VCO.
CGS36 >Pulse Divider
MFOS:
ADSR
Dual Lin/Log VCA
Noise Cornucopia
SoundLab
M. Bareille:
Polivoks*
Thomas Henry (via various):
Mankato*
SN Voice
Supercontroller
Fonik:
SSM Filter (2)*
Ryan Williams:
Wogglebug (2)
Frijitz:
EZ Chaos
5Pulser

I'm resurrecting this thread, partly to shame myself into finishing some things, partly so everyone can give me some pushes in the "right" direction, and partly so I can get an idea of my own priorities. I'm gonna print it out so I can tick things off.
It's not a list of PCBs which need attention (I wish!!) It's more a load of ideas which either need to be realised or put on the back burner. Feel free to make suggestions about re-prioritizing.
1. Get my bass guitar operational again by building a 6 channel EQ into it. Similar to an on board BEQ (the Boss or Ibanez style pedal).
2. Finish the Glee Sequencer off by putting a dedicated +/-15V PSU in the box, and mounting it in my rack cabinet.
3. Develope a modular sized spring reverb which is based on mini slinkys.
4. Finish the front panel of my dual flanger and incorporate some extra controls including invert regeneration and invert output etc.
5. Start on a chorus which is based on the MN3207, "inspired" by the Dim C.
6. Build a clone of the DM-2 analogue delay, based on the MN3005 (maybe build two and incorporate cross-regeneration)
7. Finish "The road to Al Qadim" - a soundtrack style, middle eastern, orchestral piece I've been working on for far too long.
8. Finish my "Slide controller to CV/Gate input device"
9. Build a unit which converts the Auxiliary outputs of my SR-16 into Trigger chains. _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

Awww, y'all are making me feel so much better. And I thought _I_ had a big pile - suddenly looks like nuttin'...
JH Tau Pipe (about half-done)
SN Voice
SN Supercontroller
JH Solina Phaser (whenever the boards ship)
get my Oberheim OB-8 fully running
get my Oberheim 4-voice fully running
get my Emulator I running and find some more disks
get my Linn 9000 running and find some more disks
learn to play the theremin
then, uhhhh...create some music?!

I've recently added to my previous posted pile:
2 x Ray Wilson State Variable VC-Res VCFs are on their way here
1 x Ray Wilson MFOS Sequencer is almost here (drum controller #1 of 3)
1 x Ray Wilson VCO (recently got here - waited for LM13700's which came today)
4 x Modified Ken Stone Drum Simulators (breadboarded 1 today and gave it controllable Frequency - success! 4 are coming into my Liquid Hihat panel)
1 x Klee Sequencer about to be paid for
1 x MIDI channel splitter for playing multiple drum voices from 1 MIDI channel
(It'd help if I'd stop coming up with new ideas for things to build, when I still have PCBs to stuff and panels and 75+ knobs to make. LOL )
P.S. There's a new audio only sample from my Liquid Hihat along with a modified Ken Stone Drum Simulator Bass Drum, posted in the Design section of my webpage - the 1'31" long sample has some extreme modulations going on. A good freak out for the ears, if your mind has been altered with some sort of substance. |

I might as well get in on this.
- Yusynth Fixed Filter Bank
- Papareil Polivoks VCF
- CGS Logic Gates (4x AND, 4x OR, 4x XOR, 8x Inverters)
- CGS Slope Detector #2
- CGS Modulo Magic
- Bugs Pattern Seq
- Thomas Henry's Super Controller
- Thomas Henry's UD-1
- Buchla LPG (fix these, I buggered them when converting panels)
- Blacet Miniwave (fix this, same as above. Luckily I have another one)
Coming Soon
- Scott Stites Klee
- Jurgen Haible's Triple Chorus _________________ -

A small sampling of 1980s unfinished projects, unsuccessful projects, and disappointing kits. I could've saved myself a little money and alot of time, and frustration if I knew then what I know now.
Bottom pic, top to bottom:
40-key kb from a dead Bontempi for a planned top-octave design.
4-octave kb to give a mini-key Casio full-size keys.
Drum pads under construction.

Much progress! the Cat girl sequencer is completed, and awaits a front panel only!
The Oakley VCOs merely await 2 trimmers each! (they'd be complete too, but I fux0r3d up & ordered the wrong bits) again, front panel is all I'm awaiting.
2 x JH taus await 1 trimmer each, plus 2 caps each and a tempco resistor
In addition, everything else in the pic has at least a few more components soldered in!
Also, I got 3 x JH triple chorus, and they're all 2/3 complete.
Holy crap, guys, I'm on fire here!
This of course assuming it all actually works (cough) |

I forgot! The CGS shift register is finished too (and awaiting panel, of course)
I really want to get the JLH octave/interval switchers done next. |
