I finally got to like the laser slide decals I got a few years - my previous laser printer hadn't been good for 'em. So now I needed some more and retraced my steps to where I'd got them before::::

http://www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk

They have single or bulk packs of clear or white water-slide decal sheets for laser or inkjet
And clear/white sticky backed laser or inkjet film.
And other things that'd maybe be of interest.

May not be worthwhile for US people due to exchange rate, but nice for some UK-ers I hope!

Thx BugBrand,

Will give this a try ASAP... Fed up with Dye-subbing, way too expensive.

Has anybody tried decal transfer for panels, how tough is the finish, print quality etc?

Andy.

I used water-slide decals for my Klee panel and its come out very nicely. Slight tricky because the panel is wider than A4 - I had to split it to three bits (though could have done two) and line 'em up. That was a little tricky, but you can hardly notice it.

Toughness --- just coat with many layers of acrylic spray afterwards - tough as nuts! I actually put the decal on first and then drill the holes 'cos the decal can grow a very little bit, making it hard to line things up if you've drilled the holes first. (absolutely make sure you've solidly acrylic'd the panel before drilling the holes otherwise you'll rip the decals to shreds!)

I've been using the Bel water-slide inkjet decals and cutting out the labels for the individual controls.

I tried several brands and these worked best for me. Add several layers of Krylon with sanding in between to get the final surface flat. The borders always show a bit if the light is right, but not bad in ordinary use.
