it is putting out the correct output
i was given a hologen lamp transformer by richard at rl music (official metasonix dealer)
im voting bust valve or just some setting fucking you up |
Richard at RL Music got you a HIT 60 because of my other thread... My Wretch came from him too. What serial number did you end up with? 23?
I never posted pictures of my melted power supply. It isn't pretty. Last edited by EdisonRex on Thu Oct 18, 2007 2:21 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Motorbike means you've got oscillation from the VCO. Those highly lit up ones on my pictures are gas regulators (according to Eric's manual, which you should read). The thyratron is the lower, and it sounds like they are working.
If the frequency isn't working, I still think it's the power. Especially if you haven't got any voltage control. I do not believe the voltage control is tube based, I think that's all semiconductor. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

My Serial Number is 025 !!!! Yeah!
Whatever...
Dear Tiny33; is it possible for you to post a pix of your lamps when the Wretch S1000 is working ?
I'm sure that the powersupply is not the good one... Even the Oscillators Lamps are not very very lightning.... |

Number is on the back/top near the power connector if I remember.
You just got yours? Oh! Another UK-ite with a Wretch? Cool. You have a newer one. Mine (and Sally's I expect) appears to have been built in November or December 2006, my copy of the commercial invoice was dated 29 December 2006. I have absolutely no idea how many of these Eric has built, but I gather there are not many. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Check out some of Eric's stuff on Ken Stone's CGS - he's got some schematics and background for building tube(valve) based modules.
I have not ever opened up my Wretch but I think it has some semis in there for buffering, voltage protection, and the like. Those will need to be powered by some V-V converters or something. I expect the low voltage isn't helping them get powered. I am more convinced that either the traansformer isn't providing enough voltage, or it is providing not enough of a sine wave (it being a switcher, I am suspicious). And I don't intend to try a switcher with mine, thank you, even though I have one here. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

some music site with a guitar playing through a Wretch's filter or something. I recognise the filter.
I think that's your other thread. Nobody posts here for like weeks, and then we've got 3 posts in 2 days. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

oh yeah sally, a while ago I posted this which links to something I did with the Wretch back when I got it. I've screwed up the tracking fiddling with the range and offset trims, I won't fix it until Saturday, so no more music except maybe you can listen to another mix I did a while back.
There will be more soon. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Oh! The technobabble about semiconductors and valves and stuff... Note my nick.
anyway yeah, if you don't understand it, someone else who reads this might. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

yeah I am one of those mad London cyclists. btw I have had my K-ROKs for at least 10 years too. If I crank them you can hear them down the street, you don't want to be near field if I did. Make your ears ring, they will. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.
