I have an huge collection of electronic music softwares mostly freeware some payware .Even if i would like to use so many so possible I'm always going back to the usuals that, in my case, are :
Application
Ableton Live - easy way to put together an idea
Amadeus Pro - a growing audio editor with some bug but great capabilities
Cecilia - the only Csound application who make any sense
Biddle - for lazy people who doesn't want learn Max/msp
Ac toolbox - an underestimate algorihtmic composer software

and plug in

smartelectronix - some good ideas
u-he - filterscape
pluggo

as you can see only osx

am I missing some very great software ?

Moved this to the OSX forum. Maybe a more appropriate place than composition.

Where can I find out more about Biddle? I like Max/Msp but hate the work!

I don't like that word 'Lazy'. I could easily argue that using the word 'doesn't' is just as lazy- because that is bad English! Wouldn't the abbreviation 'don't' meaning 'do not' be a better choice? Rolling Eyes Shocked

I always thought of Plogue Bidule as Plogue Bidule and certainly not something for couch potatoes. Plogue Bidule isn´t MAX and MAX isn´t Plogue Bidule. Shocked Laughing

Fractal Tune Smithy on the PC is said to be pretty good for PC microtonality and is worth a close look:

People say version 2.4 has a complicated interface, but he has addressed that in 3.0 which I understand has been in beta testing for some time and is available to owners of 2.4.
