Nord Rack replacement parts? Subject description: Used Nord Rack missing buttons and PCMCIA slot |
 |
|
Hi there,
I recently acquired a used Nord Rack that had apparently been cannibalized for parts. There are several buttons missing as well as the PCMCIA slot. I know that according to Clavia, you can get parts or repair from wherever you bought the Clavia product. There is a music store near me that sells Clavia instruments, through which I have had a Micro Modular repaired under warranty.
My questions are:
1) Does anybody know roughly what it will cost for 8 buttons?
2) Will the store be able to simply order the parts themselves, or do I have to send the Rack in and pay for professional service?
3) How is the PCMCIA slot connected to the main board? Is it for example a socketed ribbon cable or is a replacement PCMCIA slot more difficult to install?
I appreciate any and all advice. This forum has served me well in the past!
Thanks! |

Strange... I answered this yesterday already... | deadmicro wrote: | | ... I recently acquired a used Nord Rack that had apparently been cannibalized for parts. Clavia still uses the parts in their synths. | Quote: | | 2) Will the store be able to simply order the parts themselves, or do I have to send the Rack in and pay for professional service? | Only the store can tell. | Quote: | | 3) How is the PCMCIA slot connected to the main board? I use an Editor as a tool to store patches at the hard disk of the computer. See http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/020_NordLead2/023_Miscellaneous/NordGenerator_Editor/
Mostly a Rack is only used in the studio, so...
