Attention all NYE streamers |
|
|
Important message to all streamers:
Please connect to the electro-music.com chat room before you start you streaming session. The link to the chat room is http://electro-music.com/forum/chat.php
That is how I intend to communicate during the event. I won't necessarily be reading the forum itself or checking PMs or my email.
You will stream on your personal test server. At the appropriate time I will through a switch an relay your server out on the main electro-music.com server. The link to give people to listen is http://radio.electro-music.com
The way I'll know you are ready to go will be by watching the chat room.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Important information about the metadata.
In oddcast you can edit the metadata field. There is standard of convention for that field it is of the form "Artist - title"
So, for my session I might use
"Howard Moscovitz - Improvization for NYE"
At least, please put your name, or the name you want to appear on the http://electro-music.com/radio page.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Questions, here or on the chat room after the event starts running.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is just for fun. Relax and enjoy yourself. Please try to listen to as much as you can an pass on encouragement to other participants through the chat room or by posting stuff on the forum.
Please try to talk as much as you can. It makes the performances more personal and understandable. If you have nothing else to say, Just say your name and wish everyone listening Happy New Year.
We will try to stay on time as much a possible, so please keep your eye on the clock and stop playing when it's time. I wouldn't want to cut you off.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you got Javascript enabled for your browser?
If not, can you download an IRC chat program such as X-Chat or mIRC for Windows, or Colloquy for Mac.
Manual IRC connection is irc.blitzed.org and the room is #electro _________________ Garret: It's so retro.
EGM: What does retro mean to you?
Parker: Like, old and outdated.

This will happen if the server at the time is having a problem usually.
My advice aside from complicating things is to keep trying, and be patient, it can sometimes take up to a minute + to connect to the chat room... But when you get that error you usually need to start over.
Or just try reconnecting to the server manually with the command:
/server irc.blitzed.org
I doubt this will change anything, but other than having your java active & up to date you should ok, though try another browser if needed. |

We've got server trouble.
The stream is still on and the chat as well, you can enter
http://radio.electro-music.com:8050
into your fav. player in the URL field
The buttons were killed by Howard to resolve the problem. _________________ Jan

OK, thanks.
I tracked down an inner link to the stream under the "radio" tab, but all I've been getting is Blue Hell's noodle. It's lovely by the way.
Good luck with the server probs. That can be a pain, particularly under the gun. |
