I wrote the attached program to download all the issues from the link above.

Unzip the attached program to a new directory, and double click on the exe. A subdirectory will be created for each issue as they are downloaded. The gif files for each issue will be downloaded into their respective directories. There are 12 issues, and something like 565 pages total. No way am I going to download all of those manually.

[Edited April 6, 2009]

While fixing some bugs in the threading logic of this program, I found out that there about 50% more pages of Synapse available at the website above, than there are HTML links for. (why the webmast of this site only exposed half of the pages, is a mystery to me).
This version of the program now downloads the extra pages, for a total of 565 pages, and took approximately 45 minutes on my computer.

When the program is finished downloading, you should see something like this on your screen.

Issue july1977 contains 18487574 bytes in 44 pages
Issue jan1978 contains 23380660 bytes in 60 pages
Issue nov1977 contains 45037176 bytes in 56 pages
Issue nov1976 contains 22054494 bytes in 40 pages
Issue jan1977 contains 27520089 bytes in 39 pages
Issue jan1979 contains 34869660 bytes in 46 pages
Issue march1977 contains 20378192 bytes in 44 pages
Issue may1977 contains 33914114 bytes in 52 pages
Issue summer78 contains 23998360 bytes in 52 pages
Issue summer79 contains 20260633 bytes in 48 pages
Issue sept1976 contains 21080926 bytes in 36 pages
Issue march1978 contains 15588340 bytes in 48 pages

-------------------- 292 Megabytes ----- 565 pages

If you ran this program prior to April 6, (and really like Synapse),
get the new version so it will download the rest of the pages. Wink

This is a Windows-only program and has only been tested on Windows XP. If you want to run it on Linux/Mac and are comfortable installing packages, setting permissions & paths, let me know. I'll send you the source and what you need to install to make it run on those OS's (hopefully)

Don't rename the executable- it will actually prevent the program from running.

Enjoy Synapse (all 565 pages)!

They can. It's a tedious process, but can be done.

Too bad these can't be downloaded to read offline.

Yeah, thanks for the link, though. Brings back some memories. Very Happy
