I submitted a draft to NIME06 in New York that was rejected, of a paper that later became my accepted DAFX06 paper. It's just as well it was rejected, because I wound up performing and presenting this talk at electro-music 2006 at the same time as NIME06. Cheltenham was a riot.

If I had a few back-burner projects a little further along, I'd consider submitting something to this one, mostly for an excuse to travel to Italy Very Happy

An even better musical fit (that I should post here as well) is ICMC 2008. From the call for papers:

Man, could I have some fun with processed Appalachian folk music within the context of that theme

Either trip would probably have to come out of my pocket, and the logistics of seeing one of my banjos disappear into the cargo hold of a plane is always daunting. I'm still thinking about ICMC, though.
