at the above link the author presents his idea about a new(?) synthesis method. somebody else ported it to a synthedit vsti ( http://rekkerd.org/km-krebs-qm-synth/ ).

recently i got my g2 (yes!) and thought this would be a good first try. it is mainly useful for creating electro sounds (drones, beeps, sweeps etc.). features:

- knob assignements in parameter pages "Osc" and "Filter" for most important parameters (g2 engine users could use the parameter pages of the editor program)
- 8 variations
- carrier oscillator has different shapeable waveforms
- different filter types

creating new sounds is simple but a little tricky. most of the time it is producing just noise or sirene-like tones. for me it worked best, to simply tweak the "level" and "coarse" (and maybe "fine") knobs until i heard something with a structure and then tried to isolate that by using "fine" and "detune". the fm modulation amount must always be greater than zero.

best wishes
finn

welcome finn,

can't currently try the patch, but it looks interesting.

I'll edit your post a bit to make the link clickable.

edit: a direct QM synthesis link

my brother: "... what is the name of that module ... the one that makes jumps in control signals smoother ..." ? good hint: i replaced the "decrackle" lopass filter with a glide module and added its time parameter to the "Filter" parameter page. now, when the sound is too noisy, you can either decrease the fm modulation amount or increase the time parameter of the glide module. real-time tweaking of these both parameters at the same time give nice results.

@blue hell: thanks for the nice welcome. and yes, make the link clickable, if you want (how does that work, can i do it by myself?).

zed from synthofmine: "Would be great to hear how does that patch sounds like." i replaced the fm oszillator modules, which were rejected by the g2 demo application, with regular oszillator modules.
