Recording too many notes. |
|
|
I have recently encountered a problem using Cubase SX3 and a new A6 in mix mode. When I record a note I get multiple notes on the same event, i.e. hit a key and between 2 and 12 (usually 5) notes show up in the key editor stacked on top of each other.
It doesnt happen in program mode or when I use a remote keyboard. It does happen in either step or realtime and also with midi thru disconnected, using either Preset or custom mixes
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or has any idea what might be causing it? |

Freq,
I haven't tried this yet myself, but I seem to recall that in mix mode, the A6 sends a note for every voice that is playing, each in its own MIDI channel.
In Cubase, you should be able to use the Input Filter to reduce this to one note (tell it to only listen to one channel), but then I think you also need to set something on the A6 to respond to only one note, too, or otherwise you don't get all the layers of the mix playing back. Don't quote me on that last part, though.
Somebody else who's actually done midi recording in mix mode should probably give you a better idea, but I think that's the general idea of what's going on. I haven't had a chance to hook up my A6 via midi yet (I ran out of midi ports!), so I can't confirm this just yet.

Aha! the answer was here after all..
Quote: | ...found it
Mix - KBD - Enable
I've set Enable = On for Mix channel 1 only as I use the A6 as a master keyboard in a multitimbral setup. If Enable = On for more than one channel in a mix then double\triple\quadruple\ etc.. notes will record in Cubase. |
