There is a somewhat complete photo essay on his site on how he made the panels. Electro-etching I believe. There is also a cute little function generator that uses an XR2206, but I'm saving mine for XRVCO's and the THMPS.

Yes, very nice panel for the Clangora.
Hey GoodRev, are XR2206s hard to come by for you? Finally something I have a plentiful supply of which others need. (It's usually the other way round! ) _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

Especially the parts about the new DJ culture. Shit, now you become a superstar for playing other peoples music? Stretch limo and millions of dollars in your pockets to put together a play list in NI Traktor? Nice
I will only applaud if they build a MEGA DRUM SYNTHESIZER or a really slick Clangora like the one on Matrix Syth !!

Nah, I'm just saving em to get the most use out of them. In the circuit i mentioned, although very useful to me at one point, using one of my XR2206's would now be like taking the old ferrari down to the corner to get some milk!

Yes, the notation is for a variable resistor which is a pot with only one end and the wiper connected. And indeed it's better to connect the wiper to one of the ends, as the 1st terminal, and use the other end as the 2nd terminal. So when there is a bad wiper contact the resistance will not go to infinity. _________________ Jan

That symbol is confusing, because it looks like either end of the resistance is connected, and the wiper is not connected to anything, but, it's just a symbol. Conventions sometimes get in the way of understanding. _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

Over here daylight saving is turned off this night, so instead of 03:30 it's now 02:30, don't know if you'll have such luck today tho :D _________________ Jan

Our daylight saving just got turned on last night. So I've just lost an hour of goofing off time! _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

CLANGORA ALERT !
Is there any modifications to consider about Clangora design ?
Does it worth the trouble (3xLM566) ?
Should I go for etching a clangora pcb or better wait and build two MPS (Mega Perc Synth) ?
This is here the real dilema...
At least, does it really tend to be a little bit "cheesy" ? |

I have a UD-1, Cloned 808 kick, Cloned 808 snare, and a Clangora... for what it's worth, the Clangora is BY FAR my favorite and the one I touch the most. Can't compare it to the MPS yet, though. For me, this module is priceless. |
