21st Century Power Supply.

I have some questions about the 21 century synthesizer power supply schematics.

One of them was if I can achieve +/- 12v only replacing the 7815& 7915 regulator chips by 7812 & 7912, Tim has answered me that yes. It is not needed to change any value of the others of components.

But now I'm thinking that I need two little power supplies (+/- 12- +/- 15 for check circuits breadboards, So , I don't need 1.5A.

In the case that I use a transformer of 0.14A, do I need to change the values of the capacitors? Can I use the same circuit?

This is the transformer that I choose for PCB mount there are different values: look 183f36 .183k36

Other question is if I must connect the ground of the power supply with the ground of the line cord.

No, don't change the capacitor values. I haven't seen a schematic of Thomas's power supply but if it's like the standard design (and others he's designed) they help smooth the voltage to the regulators.

You really should consider a bigger transformer. 140ma (the power your supply could provide) isn't a lot ... and you'll get less after the regulators...
