among those instruments there is also the lousy Elka Rhapsody I used to play when I was a teenager (placed on top of a Rhodes 73) _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Ah, it could be viewed as an input source for the kind of processing you do. That makes sense. D' Oh!
This raises another matter in my slow mind the I would like to pursue in a bit. Thanks for stirring an oldish mind. _________________ The question is not whether they can talk or reason, but whether they can suffer. -- Jeremy Bentham |

Right!
Apart from the fact that the Eminent 310 is a nice instrument, this is exactly the kind of signal source I want for doing more of what I´m already doing.
As you already know, I have some Roland JV 1080s and JV 1010s that I use as cluster sources .. and then piped into other stuff. These have a lot of nice waveforms and I can basically use them as oscillators for further processing. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Pretty OK. The best I´ve found so far for the money. I got it brand new but very cheap. They are cleaning out the inventory of the UF 5, 6, and 7.
That said, I found the CME 88 keys hammer action to be a total disaster, both the old and the new model.. so I went for a Kurzweil SP2X in order to get a decent full sized "near-piano-action" keyboard. The nice thing about the Kurzie is that it has a few nice sounds onboard. The electric pianos are absolutely OK. I did however buy Lounge Lizard in order to get some more grit and growl.
The plan is to have the UF7 on a second tier above the Kurzie.
I do however need to get my old midi pedals repaired or I might even buy one of the new Roland or Kenton midi pedal thingies. It is way cool to fill in with a deep sine synth bass when playing electric piano. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Well, it´s actually been awhile since I played one of these myself but I remember it to be absolutely OK .
However, our most excellent member Oskar is hammering away on it as we speak. We must await his report! _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Well, since my flat hasn't quite overflowed with gear just yet, i've borrowed Stein's new UF7.
First impressions? Being a guitarist I won't necessarily claim to be an authority on the merits and demerits of various controllers, but it rsponds nicely to my unconventional hammerings, and it suited my idiosyncratic way of achieving fast repetitions. Already looking like a keeper, and if I can get it to do what I want in Logic I'll have to get one myself! _________________ Where there are too many policemen, there is no liberty. ^^ THen there's always the DSP cards (& that older Waldorf card, too) for those CME keyboards! My bandmate uses a UF controller...loves it. We're trying to convince another guy in the band to go for the VX series controllers from CME...anything motorized is very very nice |

..another weak moment?
Well, I suddenly found myself in need of a Korg VC-10 / Roland VP - 330 style vocoder with a keyboard. I´m out of those at the moment and the vp 550 does the job just fine it seems.
They could have left out the scat preset though.. OMG.. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
