Hi guys. I'm looking for a piece of hardware to act as a stable midi clock source for the rest of my gear to slave to. I basically need play and stop buttons as well as tempo control and that's about it.

It's gotta be cheap and small (preferably). Any ideas?

Cheers

This looks perfect, thanks egw Smile

Do you have one? Is the timing accurate?

I had one a long time ago. I think the timing was pretty good. At least I never noticed any problems.

The new Akai MPK49 keyboard controller has a clock along with keys, buttons, sliders, pads, transport controls, and an arp. It's costs a lot more than a used Yamaha QX21, but it has more functions. I use it to control my laptop, and two Waldorf synths without problems. It's clock syncs up well with all of them. The built-in arp is a great feature.
