This sucks!
I just bought my G2 a few weeks ago. Last friday the c-2 stopped working (did not even send midi out). The next day it worked again, but as from today it is dead.
I begin to doubt the quality department of Clavia. Mad
This never happened on my Roland keyboards....

Sorry to hear about this problem. I can easilly imagine how frustrated you must feel. Hopefully you'll be able to get a replacement unit from your music dealer. Good luck, these things happen once in a while with every manufacturer, some maybe more than others, I guess...

Thanks.
The funny thing is, it started working again. These are the scary bugs (be it hardware or software), when you can't lay a finger on it.
And yes, I can exchange it with my dealer - it only takes me half a day getting there and back with public transportation....

Hmm, no fun.

This occasionally happened with NM Classics as well, although not this soon after purchase and only sporadic (it was mentioned though by some (including me) on the NM mailing list).

In Wout's archives ( http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/ ) there might be some info as to how to fix it yourself, but as you have it only for such a short time that probably is not the right way to handle it.

Jan.

This makes me think of the famous story about the Japanese quality inspector.
The inspector was visiting a site where televisons were made.
He noted a man sitting at the end of the production line checking the final product.
He then asked: "what is this man doing here?"
The reply was: "he checks to see if the final product works. if not, the TV is rejected".
The inspector replied:"this man should not be needed. If the device does not work, it is already too late".....

Well, a half that trip in The Netherlands would be a lot of fun for me. Pretend everything is brand new to you. Take your camera and take maybe 30 pictures and post them on the web. If you don't have webspace, send me a PM, I'll make some available to you just for this trip, I'd hate to see you keep this instrument and in 6 months it starts flaking out again, and you have no warranty...
