HI everybody i'm new to bending. i saw somewhere a schematic to change a speaker to a 1/4 inch jack (like a guitar or synth would have). any help would be greatly appreashated

is it dangerous to swap a speaker for an output jack in a toy and plug straight into my mixer? could this mess up my mixer?

you shouldn't have a problem with that. at least i haven't. you might want either a cap or a resistor before hand, but in my experience it doesn't matter a whole lot.

what about impedance and line/instrument level matching? are there any particular worries there. i'm not so concerned about blowing up my mixer (a 6 or 9 volt circuit couldn't do that), just with audio quality re. recording, etc.

I to wanted to do this with aportable record player which had a built in speaker and managed to get it to work. Have a look at the attached diagram and notes. They explain how to change a speaker out or our case wires to speaker cone into a line output.
