Use Audio - The Plugiator |
 |
|
I noticed this being on sale at a local music store's web site. Anyone seen or tried it live?
http://use-audio.com/plugiator.htm
| Quote: | Now shipping: The Plugiator is an excitingly innovative table top synthesizer which utilizes the latest and fastest DSP technology to provide high-end plug-in technology within a most convenient portable form factor.
[...]
The Plugiator can store up to eight different DSP plug-ins and can load any one at a time at a push of a button. Each plug-in comes with 100 presets – allowing you to store up to 800 different sounds within that cute little box which the Plugiator is.
|
It ships with some Creamware applications, and more are for sale at something like $100 a piece.

SSL sobered up and is now peddling the Nuende DSP thingie as a PCIe card.
As we all know, there is a limit to how many firewire and USB2 devices that you would like to have connected to your computer. The price is 600 USD. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

It'll be interesting to see how the SSL Duende Mini competes vs. the UAD Xpander (same idea, but interfaces with laptop via PCExpress card slot instead of Firewire). _________________ VIRB site |

I checked out the first Duende unit. Honestly, I didn´t find it too exciting. The SLL plugins are really nice, but the versatility of the UAD-1 stuff is something else. The Neve plugins for the UAD-1 are awesome.
I do however think the Duende stuff is really good. Too bad I have filled up the Mac Pro with UAD-1 cards. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
