I built up some lunetta modules. A 4040 and a 4020 and a 4070. they work great. BUT they dont always play nice with my more "refined" modules. (they lack buffers i suppose)
when i plug the square out of one of my vcos into the CLOCK IN of any of my lunettas (which are basically just chips wired to jacks) i get an instant drop in pitch on the vco or lfo or whatever it take the clock from.

SO WHAT CAN I DO? should i add 100k resistors on all jacks in and out of the lunetta? should i add buffers to the clock ins? and if so, can someone explain how to make a transistor buffer?

is this why lunettas are often self contained?

thanks alot

Are the modules all running off of the same voltage range? The Lunetta stuff I have seen is just positive supply and ground, whereas analog VCOs for music usually output from +5v to -5v. Maybe a few dedicated signal shift and ranging blocks would help.
