Hi! I haven't posted any music in awhile because it's still so amateurish...I'm still learning to play keyboards, operate synths, record etc. I am having such problems with rhythm in Cubase. Even though I have a low latency interface I think I still have latency problems, plus I don't have auto looping capacity so when I write a riff and try to loop it, it never comes out right & I have to zoom in & try to manually line it up. There has to be a better way!

So here's this jam, the rhythm is one of the patterns on my Yamaha MM6, I added a track and then threw in some lead portamento from my Alesis Micron! (I love that portamento, that's the reason I had to get a micron.)

Plus when there is a gap in my un-planned jam, I have to throw in one of my nature clips. Here there are some tree frogs/peepers plus the awesome Wood thrush.

It is way easier to play in realtime than to record!

Cool!
Don't worry about how amateurish or professional you might think it is, the important thing is that you're doing it! When you've got a collection of tracks together there will be things you like and dislike about all of them, and somebody else will see it differently again. It really just comes down to who you are writing for. If it's for you, then you can't go wrong really. Just enjoy the process. Very Happy

Laura,

Thank you for sharing that. I enjoyed it. Reminded me in a way of What Chip Davis was doing on Fresh Aire III with the crickets. Keep it up!

I finally got to spend some Quality time with my Alesis Micron!! Like about 5 hours straight. So enthralled I forgot to watch my fave TV show, the Simpsons (it was probly a rerun anyway.)

I'm learning a bit about editing sounds and creating setups. Here's a sound clip I recorded using a few of my 'custom' sounds. The low multi-tone bass-y drone is my own... I was experimenting with semitones because I love the 5ths and 4ths layered with the main tone.

Mostly I'm just so into the lovely sounds on this little box. Talk about Ear Candy!!! Very Happy Laughing I think it's impossible to sound bad (except for maybe the farting duck sound Laughing )

Thanks. Now if I could only figure out what all the parameters meant instead of just randomly turning knobs to see what happens. Still can't figure out how to set that M2 slider to 'frequency cutoff".
