New Nord Lead 2X |
|
|
After weeks of searching, I have manage to score a brand new Nord Lead 2X via the guitar center. It seems that over the last month this instrument has been discontinued.
This will be my first Clavia keyboard, after years of buying Korg/Roland/Yamaha (back to the DX7, D50 & M1). I am very excited. Looking for to joining the ranks.
I've been selling off my old ADAT studio system along with many rack devices. I decided to venture out past my old habits. (I am also going after the Waldorf Blofeld & Access Snow also.)
Strange, I've passed by the Nord Lead series, claiming they where a fad. The truth was I could not afford it and the dealers in my area alway seemed not to have it in stock.
I've decide to hang on to a few effect device (such as Roland SRV330/SDR330 and Alesis Q2) specifically for the Nord Lead 2X. Now that I underwstand it has no effects. |

After all they are just guitar sellers, aren't they Quote: | This will be my first Clavia keyboard, after years of buying Korg/Roland/Yamaha (back to the DX7, D50 & M1). I am very excited. Check this out:

"This product has been discontinued or is no longer sold by SameDayMusic"
American Musical Supply.....no listing
Musican's Friend.....no longer listed
Sweetwater, what they got in stock after a month of "out-of-stock"
This is just strange......
The unit I'am getting from the Guitar Center took 17 phone calls to find a new one in an unopened box. |

Well, as it seems in European stores they are in full color (red) in the shop lists. It could be it's all with the difference between the Dollar and the Euro. It should be much higher in the USA... I can imagine they withdrew the synth out of the USA market, because it isn't a big seller there and it would make less profit, so selling in Europe alone is much better.
Anyway, although the NordLead 3 is discontinued by Clavia for almost a year, still new NL3's are available in some shops, right from Sweden...

Received by Nord Lead 2X today........This is a great keyboard.
Coming from Romplerland over the last few aquisitions (Motif SX, M3), this is so cool, to just twist knobs and push buttons and play, (where are the complicated menus and hidden functions?).
I say the only disappointment is the lack of effect..luckly I have external effect to run it through (RE-20, SRV330). The sound is wonderful.
This unit brings new motivation for leads and synth pads. |

Atlas5, don't forget that you can use your XS and M3 as audio effect units by using the audio inputs. The M3 can do really cool effects! I enjoyed specially the tube amp simulator with my nords. _________________ Cheers,

This is the $ vs euro making its impact felt.
The 2x is in production but it will no longer be imported to the US,
exception being the ltd edition, since at 999$ Clavia is probably losing money.
In the EU it's sold for 1199EUR.
That's about $1800++ |
