Hey, I have a Yamaha PSR-11 that I really want to bend. I have been looking at this post http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-11677.html on PSR-6's and want to do a similar process. The FM chip on the PSR-11 is the Yamaha YM3812 which is the larger version of the YM2413. For more information on the YM3812 go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_YM3812. I want to install a patch bay between the CPU and FM sides.

I have gotten a bunch of good bends when it plays the built in loops, but I can only get a few for when I am actually playing the keyboard, any tips? I am connecting the CPU points to the FM points and am not going to solder anything until I am certain that each point will sound good. I'm not sure if a patch bay or switches will be better.

Your FM sound settings are held into the chip's memory, so to have your FM bends written into the chip you need to select another sound preset while connecting your bends.

Pin 10,11, and 13 to 18 are the data pins.
