It lists sound cards, but what about other devices you would expect to see for your system ?

Everything runs good on my system, but ‘Midi Out’ is the only thing that I haven’t been able to fully test yet, so I’d really appreciate any feedback about this. Other feedback is also appreciated.

It’s a Delphi program using the ‘Wise’ installer, and can be downloaded here:

The program will not run properly on my machine. It starts but closes its window immediately, before I can even see what's there.

Thanks DJ,

On your PC, did it install with this path: 'C:\Program Files\'
?
I will know what to do with just a 'yes' or 'no' , please.

It installs it into 'Program Files', but maybe not all PCs will have the above path verbatum, in which case it will halt the program.

Thanks,

Steve

OK, I copied the program to "C:\Program Files" and ran it from there.
It reports the right devices on this laptop (I think...) :
Midi In: default
Midi Out: default, Microsoftt GS Wavetable

I get sound when playing aroound, so it seems to work fine in that respect.

On my Norwegian Windows XP machine, "C:\Programfiler" is used as the deafult install directory, as I would expect. You may want to look into those references to the "C:\Program Files" to allow install for any language (the install path can be read from the registry).

There also is an environment variable called ProgramFiles which holds the actual path.

Thanks!

The problem should be fixed now, and is replaced on my site.

BTW The Midi Out will list 10 devices max, and you can only select one...

Steve

P.S. I didn't mean to give the impression that the whole thing needs extensive testing! Development started way back in '92. So been there, done that!
