OK, I downloaded the ChucK tar file, and expanded it on my desktop.

The instructions are supposed to be simple, so I must be missing something.

The instructions say to cd '/bin' and do a copy of the ChucK executeable, but .... that doesn't make sense ... since there's no executeable there naturally for ChucK.

Would appreciate some help on hos to get ChucK installed on my latop.

Thanks,

JayB.

Have you tried MiniAudicle? http://audicle.cs.princeton.edu/mini/ It's a graphical frontend for ChucK, and Chuck comes with it, so if you install MiniAudicle you get what you want.

For the plain ChucK that you donwloaded, when I look at the archive, if I open bin I see a file called chuck. That's the executable. You need to open a terminal, go to the bin directory with cd (cd Desktop/check-1.2.1.1-exe/bin) and then execute it with ./chuck. If you don't like terminals, go for MiniAudicle.
