This is what I bought. $17.00 for ten including shipping.

Don't forget that you'll need 270r, 2W resistors as well. Shipping took over a week but all was well and I'm pleased with my purchase.

Hmm, could those be the ones we did a group by for a while back? If so I have some. What's that about the 2w resistors?

A group buy here or in the Yahoo! group? I'm not aware.

Ken's site states and shows that a 270r, 2W resistor must be used due to around a five times greater power use by this tube.

Our very own Mr. Clack bought a lot of these and sold the ones he didn't need. It appears I've got the right ones, so I don't need the resistor.

Both types are good for this design or Ken wouldn't have mentioned them both?

£3.20 per tube including shipping is still more than these "alternates". Good of him to offer them; If anyone wants a couple of the alternate tubes I've got, PM me and I'll send them out for what I paid, $1.70 each plus a padded envelope and shipping (likely a total of $3.00 to most parts of the world, for one tube).

I'm not bashing your tubes, I just mean "right" for me since I don't have any 2W resistors lying around Wink

Me either, had to go out and buy some. But compared to the tubes that didn't work, I think these are GREAT!
