Well, the thesis is coming along nicely, so I finally had some time to patch around a little. Rolling my own 'verb has been a strange fascination of mine a while back (I am not really a heavy reverb user, but I like the challenge to patch a good one), and I took my previous endeavours a bit further. I realized that in previous versions of my feedback delay network reverbs, I patched the feedback matrix highly inefficient. Here is a version with 12 delays, a level of complexity that I couldn't get earlier on. I think it works quite well, although it does need some EQ on the reverb output. I left that out so that it still fits on one DSP.
I did include some early reflections to make a convincing space, however, these aren't too much optimized. Might help to tweak around a bit with levels and delay times (individual as well as overall via morph group assigned to panel).
Important user controls are assigned, I think they are clear enough. Even put something in the textpad :saint: Wink

Forgot to mention: leave the hallsize control below about 36 (I used prime numbers between 67 and 113). Smaller size gives smoother results, but sound ehh, kinda smaller Smile

edit 2: be sure also to try these settings: hallsize 32, verbtime 64, a bit of lowpass on the verb to taste (prevent from getting too harsh). Now play quietly into the verb, with something like a very trebly clean guitar or anything else. Very nice, it is like a reverb with a reverb time of > 1 minute Cool

The quest for the holy verb grail continues.....

Here's another update of my attempts to program a decent reverb within 1 patch (takes 1.5 DSP in total), this time to be loaded into slot A because of midi control issues.

This patch is the result of interesting discussions and tips from Tim a few weeks or maybe months ago. He suggested to make a LP-->allpass knob to control the slope of LP that is applied within the FDN network, amongst other great remarks and suggestions. I also added the idea to modulate only part of the delay lines (4 of 12), but not patch their outputs directly to the reverb output. Therefore, only recirculated modulated signals are heard, making it smoother. Please refer to my previous FDN rantings for more details about the working mechanism and design choices I made.

Since I announced to do some more patching again, I thought I'd best put my patch where my mouth is straight away Very Happy

The patch is not THE most structured one ever, but if it's any consolation I made all knobs that are meant to tweak blue and assigned them to the panel. And of course use the morphs that are assigned. There are lots of parameters to tweak here, but I filled 8 variations to my liking to show some of the extremes of this verb patch. I hope you enjoy!!

Indeed it is amazing, can't believe I haven't heard this one yet.. I have tried to do reverbs before but they have always sounded pretty clangy and this is very nice.

I've been doing a little patching again after a long break. I stumbled across my reverb experiments and found this one that I don't think I posted before. I still like the character of these fdn verbs, so here's some new variation on my old theme. Included in the performance is a Clavia factory patch by Curt Nolte that I like to test out verb settings. It is in slot B. Either turn chorus on or off to have semi-stereo or mono input into the verb.
I've hooked up the most important controls to knobs and created some variations.

Wow, big one! was hard to find room for it in the performance I'm setting up - but seem to have managed Cool
