This is a shameless plug for some software called Quartz Crystal that smokris and I contributed to. The real brain behind it was Chris Wright, who is coming with us to Tennessee to give a talk about Quartz Composer for interactive visuals.

Anyway, we just released it last night and it can be gotten at http://kineme.net/product/QuartzCrystal . It allows you to drag and drop Quartz compositions, flick a few switches, and out pops a movie file. Could be very useful for people who want to do visuals for their sets with QC but who don't have enough free hands to control their QC stuff and their music stuff at the same time.

The program costs a few bucks but you can try it out for free. We'd especially appreciate any native German/French/Japanese speakers taking a look at it, as we've translated it into those languages and have undoubtedly made a few mistakes in the grammar and whatnot.

Thanks for reading!

just an update... version 1.2 is out, which supports spatial supersampling (motion blur), has language localizations for french, german, and japanese, and has a few other improvements. it only costs $14. i know a few people who saw chris' talk and/or ruori's visuals this year were interested in it.
