Hey everybody, I'm back at last!!!

I've finished my exams and have a few days off, so what was the first thing I turned to?? The G2 of course! Very Happy (Actually, I started playing around with this performance when I was supposed to be revising, but I think I did fairly well in my exams, so it doesn't seem to have hurt Very Happy )

Anyway, what we have here is a (nearly) 6 minute pre-programmed trance track with all the usual bells and whistles. Smile (No actual bells and whistles for those of you that don't know that expression) Just press RUN and sit back and enjoy... or get up and have a boogie! Very Happy

I'd forgotten what a pain it is trying to fit a whole track into one g2. Sad Overall, it turned out ok, but beware of some horrible MIDI timing glitches, that cause the occasional note to play wrong. Also, after the first time of playing (it repeats), the filter settings on some variations get changed and so don't play quite right... am I making it sound crap here? Very Happy I'll stop now and just let you find out for yourself.

The usual .mp3 is attached for those at work, or for unexpanders.

Its not a complete track yet, but im just at the sound development stage.

I do like some evolving stuff in your performance. I got to learn some more in that perspective.

I really enjoyed both pieces, being into Trance myself it's really exciting to see how much you can do on the Nord Modular Synths, both of you are really talented people. thumb up

Was a little disappointed to read the above statement though as I think it takes some balls to post something you made in a forum, it's worrying to think that you might get shot down in flames when all you are trying to do is share and learn, which is surely the whole point of the forum.

I hope people that are new to synthesis, like me, won't put off using the forum by the people they come here to learn from.

Well most people here don't make cheap comments so I wouldn't worry about posting things if I where you.

Indeed you are very right about this.. I've observerd a couple of his sound design creations wich are way above my head. And it will defenitly help me getting forward for the big sequence automation. I think i hoped a bit more from this, and not everyone's comment should be taken that seriously. I will hold my breath next time Cool

The electro-music event stream was silent, so I found some time to listen - is cool track I think, from the patches you showed me?

Gosh... what's been going on in my abscence?

In response:

1. I'm perfectly happy to accept negative criticism (but thanks for the support, guys Wink). We're all different people and like different things - indeed the world would be a boring place if we didn't.
2. The G2 is powerful, but in my opinion, it can either produce a few amazing sounds OR more, less amazing sounds WITH full song sequencing, drums and effects... remember, it's just a little red box. Very Happy I'm pretty sure that it wasn't designed with full track production in mind... you can't really compare one G2 performance with any record/CD.

So, while I'm confident that I couldn't sqeeze any more out of this performance, if someone doesn't like it, that's all good... no hard feelings. Very Happy

hehe Cool it's gonna take a little while before i fully understand how to sequence a complete track Cool i can post you the performance as it is now, but it needs a sequence like sheridans performance. I dont see this as a race :p but i did promise a performance.
