anyone know if you can get the G2 to send midi out thru its usb port?

i'm trying to use it to control softsynths in a laptop that has a usb port, but no midi connector.

or would it be simpler to try and find something that has a usb connection on the computer end and a midi connector on the G2 end?

thanks

Unfortunately you can't Sad

It would be a nice touch though! If it was firewire you could also run a huge number of audio streams between the computer and G2... A modular midi and audio interface with immense dsp power Smile perhaps the G3 engine?

Even USB should handle 4ins, 4outs, programming, and MIDI! Though maybe not at 24/96k rates:(

It would be cool to have a VST "nord" plugin that ghave you access to the hardware! Exclamation

ok: let me phrase this another way:

on the Clavia site, they show a G2 controlling softsynths and have some templates that you can download to do it.

if the G2 has midi and your laptop has only usb, how do you go about it?

At this point, that's your best answer.
