Ooh, this hurts. A few days ago, my G2X fell from its perch on the keyboard stand, slid down the Yamaha S90 and the Rhodes and landed hanging slightly by its output cables near the floor.

Now I'm getting a whine from the output and the USB port is toast. I'm going to try replacing the patch cables to see if that cures the whine (just in case the shield was damaged or something like that), and then I'll try and get in touch wth Nord to see if I can get a replacement USB port.

This is the second time I've destroyed a USB port. I tripped over the cable attached to the S90 when it was new and that was the end of that USB port. I seem to have really bad USB karma, or USB ports are just not designed for the rigors of living with someone who walks like a penguin.

My USB port is still flaky so I can't do much with the editor and I'm having a MIDI issue that I can't seem to solve. I'm trying to play the G2X from the S90, and the MIDI indicator light on the G2X lights up to show it is receiving data, but there are no notes sounding.

Any idea how I can figure out what's going on without the editor?

Thanks

Randy
