Just plugged in my new G2, a replacement for a faulty original one, and it emits a low hum from the power supply end and from the left end also. I don't remember the loan unit I had while waiting for my new one to arrive doing this.

I know I am a bit paranoid after the disappointment of my faulty first unit, but does anyone else have a humming G2?? Will it lessen as the transformers age?

Tim

There were reports of some G2 engines that hummed like this, but I haven't heard of any G2 keyboards doing this. If I put my ear to the right side of the front panel, I can hear a hum or buzz sound, but it is very quiet, in no way a problem.

Sorry you're having such a hard time, Tim. I'm sure Clavia will want to make everything right with you no matter what it takes.

Thanks for the nice response Surprised) I spoke to the shop (again) and they were good about it too, saying that although they had never heard of such a problem, if it didn't go away when the transformers have bedded-in they would swap it (again) without question. Still, I will feel a bit of a dick if I have to take another one back...sigh

I wouldn't bother if it was a cheaper synth but this thing cost more than my last three cars put together!

ho hum...
