Hey guys, I'm new here and at modular synthesis world, so excuse me if my questions may seem silly.
I would like to play my G2X through a Roland AX-7 midi controller:
what shall I do to change variation (of the same patch) by only switching a key of the AX-7? Someone told me that I should use the "bank midi assign", but, this way I have to load different banks at the same time (loosing polyphony voices) and, however, load different variations of the same patch in different banks.
I hope you'll understand my need and my words Wink

thank you
riccardo

welcome riccardo,

the G2 changes variation when you send it CC70 messages. When you can't send that CC from your controller you could patch around it on the G2. For instance you could use a note velocity, or a note number, or another CC and a couple of MIDI modules in the patch to translate that into CC70.

Ok... I've got some problems.
My AX-7 controller sends only a CC32, a CC00 for bank selection. Other settable parameters are channel and program change.
Could you tell me, step by step, how to set the Midi receive module in G2 and the parameters in AX-7?
I'm sorry but, as I said, I' m a newbie in modular synthesis Embarassed

thank you
ric

That's a bit limited ... CC32 is fixed for patch selection in the G2 I think, and bank select is just that ...

Maybe one possibility would be to use a note you don't need to switch stuff. Another possebility would be to use a device like this one to translate CC32 into something else. Both would need some additional patching as well.
