Me too. I'd be fine with an early European slot too. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Yes, let's do it again. This we we all have less money to spend on travel and New Years celebrating. We might as well as stay home and party together. I'm going to set up a sign up sheet using a public Google calendar. I think that might be a nice way to do it. Watch this topic for details. _________________ --Howard

This year has had it.The future looks super.

Subject description: Appalachian Stream |

I'm in. I wrote a piece before Kingsport called Appalachian Stream, that I didn't have time to play down there, so I can debut that one. Busy semester, time to get back into shape for this! Thanks, Mosc. _________________ When the stream is deep

New Years Eve Live Streaming Event Subject description: Yippie! |
|
|
Go for it! As a major "lurker", I'm thrilled!
Aw shucks Did you guys devise this just for me? Dec. 31st is my birthday Some of you know, this has been a difficult year for me healthwise, and I'm really pleased to be alive and hopping!
If you all don't mind, I will consider this New Years Eve Live Streaming Event my reward from all the great guys (and gals) at electro-music.
What's that? You say me and my birthday had nothing to do with this live streaming?
RATS!
Oh well, Happy New Year to you all anyway. |

How do we submit music? Do I need to acquire any software for this? _________________ -- Kevin

Yes, live stuff is favored, but you can also stream prerecorded stuff if you wish. I've just returned from a rather chaotic "vacation". I have lots of orders to ship out from the store. After that, I'll start setting up the event sign up sheet on Google Calendar. The default time will be one hour, but if you want less, we can work with that too.
Important, no music you don't own because we don't have a web streaming license with BMI or other music agency. _________________ --Howard

Live performance on New Year's? No problem :) |
|
|
Actually, to play live on New Year's eve is fine with me. I have been working with loops/fx and my instruments lately. So, I'd be interested in doing an electro-music set for you.
Now, I have to figure out how to send to the stream. _________________ -- Kevin

I had absolutely no joy whatsoever with Oddcast
But I was OK with whatever we used the first year
Whatever we use, a rehearsal/test at some point before the event would be very useful _________________ Jez

The only thing to watch out for is that NiceCast's audio input meters aren't accurate - at first, I had a serious problem with clipping in my transmitted signal, even though the meters themselves didn't indicate clipping.
If possible, you'll want to do a soundcheck beforehand to determine the proper levels for your set. |
Yes, this happened to me, I had an overload during the live stream which I didn't detect because none of the meters indicated it. Definitely requires hard limiting or careful attention in setup. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.
