Unfortunately, the SC area of this forum is not very popular. Basically I'm the only one who answers questions here, and if I'm busy, it may take several days, a week, two weeks, who knows?
I haven't done any serious multichannel work. My suggestion is to get familiar with the panning UGens first.
Non-ambisonic:
Pan4 (four channels)
PanAz (azimuth panner, arbitrary number of channels)
SplayZ (spread an array of channels at equal angles around a ring of channels)
Ambisonic B-format:
PanB
PanB2
BiPanB2
DecodeB2
Rotate2
"Ambisonics" is a special kind of encoding that facilitates moving signals around in space. I haven't used it so my understanding is limited, but what I know of it is that the signal is encoded with position information, and then it can be mixed with other encoded signals. At the end of the signal chain, a decoder generates the actual signals to play on the speaker array. If the speakers are positioned properly, the decoded sound gives the impression of spatial positioning -- but this is not the same as putting a sound on a specific speaker.
I think the sc3-plugins project at Sourceforge has a different version of ambisonics - go here http://supercollider.sourceforge.net/ and click the "plugins and extensions" link.
MixerChannel is my creation. In itself it's not a multichannel diffusion system -- it's really a framework to manage signal routing and mixing. I designed it to be open-ended so you can put any kind of panning or specialization mechanism into it. Once you do that, then MixerChannel can be used as part of a multichannel diffusion system.

The SC portal has a "community" page listing some good resources. The best is the very active mailing list. There have been a couple of tries to get a web forum going, but because the list is so established, they never took off. Nabble is a decent web-forum style interface for the mailing list. (To post questions etc. using Nabble, you do need to subscribe to the ML but there is a no-delivery option if you prefer not to get emails.)

Get the 3.3 alpha 2 package built yesterday (downloads page from the sc portal). It has a help gui with a search feature - cmd-shift-D on mac, or Help.gui programmatically.
Will listen to your track later
