very little feedback on music? |
|
|
huzzah!
i am a more or less occasional visitor/poster here after some initial posts in the composition forum. so i didnt notice at first, but from all the musicians fora i visit (both german and anglophone) EM.com seems to be the one with the least amount of feedback on actual music!
which is perplexing, since you people seem to be really devoted to the music itself, although youve got a lot of technical things going on here.
dont get me wrong, i am not whining about the lacking feedback on my stuff (theres enough), but its kinda strange, innit? why is that? _________________ cloud1 - cloud2 |

for me it's only a matter of time. I remember the days when there were so few posts every day (here on this forum) that you could easily read them all. now it's impossible. _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

There is loads of music discussion here- you just need to L@@K!
The DIY forum's are incredibly creative, with people building stuff to make and play music.
So I disagree with you! _________________ ACHTUNG!

good to hear that! right, i didnt look into the specific subforums, only in the "online music" forum. fool that i am! plus, theres great feedback on, say, generative music in the composition forum. plus, i never thought that admins/moderators give feedback, but on most sites theres a bunch of 20 to 50 regulars that give feedback on any track, but you are right: those patrons might be very specialised here. thanks for the heads-up! _________________ cloud1 - cloud2 |

I take abreaktor's point. The Online Music forum used to be much more forthcoming in terms of feedback for submitted tracks.
If you'll permit me, I don't think the 'sheer mass of weight' argument makes much sense. Surely the volume of potential reviewers rises proportionally with the volume of music posted for criticism.
I assume back in the day, it was literally the same people doing the bulk of the reviewing - for those people, clearly sheer mass of weight prevents them reviewing everything. But perhaps the question should be, why aren't the people who are posting music also reviewing music? _________________ This message was brought to you from Beyond The Grave. |

this forum is increasingly becoming a "big pond" and as the proverb says (more or less): "it's better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond". _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Most commenting on music, and listening to it, happens in the chat I think .. and through the radio of course. Not that I'd want you all to go there of course _________________ Jan
also .. could someone please turn down the thermostat a bit.
