Great!

Then I'd like to recommend nLog by Tempo Rubato (I would include a link but damn copy and paste- I'm typing this on my iPhone- isn't a feature yet- until v3 this summer Mad ).

nLog is a full featured analogue style poly synth that costs 5 quid and sounds awesome! What more can I say?

Very Happy

Based solely on this recommendation, I purchased this synthesizer for $5.

Tom, you are right, this is the best synth for iPhone I've tried. It's a real instrument. Reminds me a bit of the Prophet 5.

I wish that when you hold down a key and slide back and forth it would do pitch bend. That would be a really nice addition.

The envelope decays could stand to be much longer too.

It's tricky to adjust the knobs, but I can see that, like playing the flute, it will take some practice.

This could become my favorite synth. Now I'm carrying around an axe all the time. Very Happy

Favorite, not of iPhone synths, all synths. Portability is a big advantage.

No, I don't think I'd pay that much for it. Why do you ask that?

well thats what a simlock free iphone would cost ... and I don't think I'd need a cellular ... so it would be for gadgets only .. and for internet maybe.

Oh, yes. I wouldn't get a phone for just this. But you can get an iPod Touch that connects up via WiFi. It has most of the stuff that the phone has and is cheaper and has no monthly charges. Many of the phone's apps work on the Touch. Oddly, the smallest percentage of the time spent using my iP is on the phone.

Anyway, if you already have one of these toys, this synth is worth investing another $5.

Sadly, I've recently come across a few bugs in nLog, I think.

Yes I've found a couple too- but the developer (who's called Rolf btw) is very responsive. He fixed a file saving bug in nLog pretty quickly and is now working towards a whole bunch of new features including;

- wavetables
- HP, BP etc. filter modes
- step sequencer
- arpeggiator
- chorus / phaser / flanger
- reverb
- wav export
- echange of sounds banks by email
- more sound banks
- play along iPod
- glide / portamento
- unisono with 1-2-4 voices spread
- random wave for LFO
- overdrive / bit crusher
- x/y control
- hold for keyboard
- extend osc pitch to +/- 24
- autorotate screen in both directions
- accelerator integration
- integration into Logic

Exchange sound banks by email? Sounds like the Nord Modular eh? Cool

Hi,

I am the Rolf Wink Next update is for April in planning. Some of the features mentioned will come. I got already done chorus, distortion, +/-24 osc pitch, patches by email, rand wave for LFO. Whatever in addition will be ready in time will be included in April update. If anybody wants to beta-test, I am happy to receive an email.

The usage of the knobs is in circular mode, not like somtimes done in vertical mode. If this is confusing, I am thinking to add vertical mode for knob as an option.

Any ideas are welcome!

Cheers
Rolf

PS: If you like, leave a nice comment in iTunes Wink

welcome Rolf

Great to have you here.

As this gets going, we can set up a dedicated nLog sub forum. Very Happy

We'd be happy to host such a thing, and when the times comes - a patch archive.

Great! Maybe this will prompt all of the synths to go MIDI.
