G2 Engine trouble with os 1.24 |
|
|
I still work with a Win98se..
I have downloaded os1.24 , after upgrading the engin is beginning to play a demo. I could only stop the demo with the new editor.
...But no midi control is possible anymore (Remote25 or Elka MK55).
I'm trying to verify all midi setting for performance and patch but no midi control is possible. Other side effect ubs is losing connection after some minutes.
I needed to install os1.10 again to make it work ( after checking midi and selecting some performance it works again).
I've made the procedure twice to be sure . It is reacting in same way.
Has somebody else encounter this problem.
Is there a good release between 1.10 and 1.24 and where can i find it ?

I had a problem updating once:
http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-3358.html
I had a 3 meter cable, and it wouldn't update. I moved to a USB2.0 1 meter cable, and it worked fine.
Now, I used that SAME 1 meter cable on my laptop, and it won't work, the G2 isn't recognized properly. A different cable, however, does work. My laptop has been finicky in the past with these types of things.
So, if you have access to another cable, it may be worth a try. Just guessing, but there may be a higher bandwidth of data in 1.24 vs. 1.10, and that's enough for USB to choke like a NY Yankee in game 7 of the ALCS. |

usb trouble |

I have an addone card so I will try the usb 2.0 later . But i have lost lot of time trying to install the Engine on W98SE. On my first computer drivers could not be installed at all; automatic detection doesn't work, and on both computer the device was not displayed in the list . By miracle on the second computer install begun after 1-2 minutes or more (i was leaving the room for a cup of tea....) _________________ Artworks Music Computer |

I'n not running USB2.0, I just used a USB2.0 grade cable. I had similar problems on WinXP...the G2 wouldn't detect, or it would be detected, but as an "Unknown Device". Either way, it wasn't working. The quality shorter cable solved these issues for me. |
