Hello,

I guess that the "Skew" CV that appears in pag. 8 of the 21st Century Synthesizer, has the same function that the "Adding Variable Ramp Control" that appears in the pag. 96 of The VCO Chip Cookbook. isn't it?

Do you know if the Skew 21 CS VCO also acts over the pitch, like the AVRC do in the cookbook?

And... how does work the Skew 21stCS VCO control? The pin 11 is connected to the pin 1(multiplier CV in). This give us the ramp wave. D5 removes the negative cycle of the square wave. The VC Skew through the D4 seems to neutralize the positive part of the square wave.
If from CV Skew and before D4 the voltage= 0, the positive values of the square wave will pass through D4, but... there is no any ground. How they are canceled?

Regards.

I think that the XR VCO design in the AS21C book is just the one documented on Scott's site: http://mypeoplepc.com/members/scottnoanh/birthofasynth/id20.html - plenty of good information about the circuit there!
