has anyone in the community got some video synth modules working?

I remember there being discussion of such things

i would like to build a small simple PAL video synth but have no idea where to start

are those old test pattern generators a good place to look for ideas?

There has been a lot of development on video synth modules on my end over the past few months, although it's been a while since I posted about it. I've been working with a couple others and I'm not sure what the exact plans are for the designs, but there will be more information soon. Smile

Color Encoder & Sync Generator are working, still being refined... lots of other stuff planned.

Something like that!! I just want to have some final, stable designs first. I'll post when there's more information. If you have questions or ideas, please feel free to contribute to the ongoing discussion. Smile

i've thought about video synthesis a little bit and one thing that occurred to me was that it would probably be quite easy to do resolutions and refresh rates that are much greater than NTSC and PAL.

there is already a huge amount of computer display technology using analog SVGA signals to do this, and TONS of hi-res CRTs getting thrown away that would be great displays for video synthesizers.

using SVGA would also allow easy integration of computer generated signals into the system.

How would the use of SVGA assist with integration signals? Thanks

one could easily connect the SVGA output of a computer to a simple passive interface module that would split it into sync and RGB waveforms
