I was messing around in a sequence patch and put in a MIDI control send module...while adjusting the Cntrl Snd settings, the G2 suddenly dropped 20 db or more in volume. Undo-ing a few steps didn't fix the problem, so I went to a new variation and manually matched all the settings - everything was normal volume again. After successfully putting in a couple functioning Cntrl Snd modules, I input a third one and the same problem occured.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Making no assumptions...there's no MIDI loopback going on through external gear? what control #'s are you using? Did the patch level drop in the patch settings? Or was this just an unanswered drop in 20db?

What control number are you using? I had funny experiences with my mpc sending midi to the G2 - when I would change the volume of a track, it would send midi volume changes to the G2 and would turn down one of the slots. Similarly, when I'd change the volume of a patch it would go through the mpc and change the volume of one of the other slots too. Maybe the control number you're using is the midi cc for volume?

CC#7 is midi volume. The patch level knob will automatically respond to this on each slot. So, don't use cc7 for anything else.
If it's not that, you'll have to provide more detail about what's happening.

I did not use the cc# for patch level, although I probably passed over it while making the settings and I guess thats what caused it to drop. Embarassed
