36dB/Oct Lowpass VCF |
|
|
My Varislope Filter/Phaser can be used as a powerfull (IMO) 36dB/Oct Lowpass filter. (6-pole filter)
I've made a demo to show this:
http://www.jhaible.de/varislope_filter_phaser/living_vcos_thru_36dB_varislope.mp3
I thinks it's both "fat" sounding, and you can get some unusual sounds out of it as well.
I started another thread, because I want to get enough orders for this project to go into production.
The full-fledged Varislope Filter / Phaser has a huge number of components (200 Resistors alone!) because of the complex on-board modulation. But if you only want a powerfull VCF, you don't need all these extra components. I'll make a component overlay for a partly populated PCB, just for filter applications. This won't be a complex project anymore then. And it may make a good VCF to go along with the Living VCOs.

Haha, that's why it is unique
- yes, 13700 is fine.

Here's the component overlay for the Lowpass only:
http://www.jhaible.de/varislope_filter_phaser/36dB_LPF_only_components.pdf
(that's still a variable slope filter with resionance and 36dB/Oct fatness - just without th eLFO and the phaser.)

what would be cool is an pcb project with a couple of lfo based like this one
-variable morph waveoutput with volzage controlled waveform
-freq cv control
-individual wave out
-reset
-sync
maybe a build in delay (like the lfo of the 100M) |

Based on the interest you all have shown so far, I think I can send out order forms some time next week.
Then, if I get enough binding orders within two weeks or so, I'll get these boards manufactured.

I want one! Probably 2, actually. (already sent you an email last month from the sdiy list about it)
Can't wait! It's the last piece I need for a new little synth i'm building. |

Pre-order for 36dB VCF and Variable Slope Filter/Phaser project
(See http://www.jhaible.de/varislope_filter_phaser/varislope_filter_phaser.html
for details about the project.)
Pricing is EUR 27.00 per board
plus a single EUR 6.00 shipping flat charge for worldwide shipping,
regardless how many boards you are ordering and where you live.
It does *not* include any customs fees or tax that you may (or may not) have
to pay in your county.
What you get is a double-sided printed circuit board with component overlay,
approx. size 160mm x 100mmm.
You have to buy the electronic components for this, and build the device,
yourself. (Check the above website regularly for updates and building hints,
bill of matrials etc.)
If you want to place a pre-order, please send me an email (no PM or forum message!)
and use the FOLLOWING FORM (fill in your data instead of [],
for instance: "2 Boards" instead of "[quantity] Boards")
===== Start of Email Order Form ===============
Email Subject line: 36dB Varislope order: [quantity] boards
Email text:
I'm ordering [quantity] pieces of the 36dB VCF and Variable Slope Filter/Phaser PCB
for EUR 27.00 per board + EUR 6.00 single shipping flat charge for any
number of boards.
I'm aware that I may have to pay additional amounts of customs and tax in my
country.
I'm aware that I'm only buying blank PCBs that may help me building an
electonic module - I'm *not* buying a diy kit, not a "project" - just pieces
of FR4 with copper traces.
I know how to build electronic circuits and I am trained in electrical safety matters.
The seller of these PCBs will not be held responsible for any damage that results
from these PCBs, directly or indirectly.
My shipping adress is
[Your Name]
[Your street, number, city, ZIP code, in exactly the form
that is generally used in your country]
[your country]
My paypal adress is [your paypal adress].
I===== End of Email Order Form =========
Looking forward to hear fom you Smile

Comments and wishes for extension and front panel |
|
|
Hi all,
Well, I am heare as for sure, i find the VCF great.
I just ordered the components from Reichelt.
Well, with the poties, it costs 80 Euro.
Juergen, it would be great if on your list you add as well the poties and switches and audio sockets.
As like you know I am hurry to mount it, I didn't optimized the cost of the componenets.
The analog switches are availables at Bürklin for around 1 euro.
Which means, the kit complete cost 90 euro without the PCB and front panel.
Now, I would to add the features to get the S&H and LFO midi synchronized.
And, I would be delighted to get some pictures of some front panel event if its only in a electronic format.
Thanks for the nice work Juergen.

Good evening,
Which means you don't know what are you speaking about.
For your information, I buy very frequently components from brüklin.
It is always pleasant to get a nice first mail from a forum. Sade that yours didn't start with "hello" and ended with "best regards".
It seems that you are not so pleased as well about the fact that it is possible to get the DG419 from that provider. For your information, Juergen asked directly to give a precise cost a the components package.
May be it is more that your problem...
Best regards,
F |
