Subject description: Found sound percussive recordings

Here are some sounds I found. Very Happy

They are recorded with percussion sampling in mind, to use in a different kind of drum kit. I have done several hits for variation in sounds.


Materials used:

A big basin of water
Drinking glasses
A few metal serving dishes, rather large
A metal bowl


Recorded with a Sony stereo mic and Dat recorder. Converted to 320 kbps mp3.

I have some more recordings from this session which I'll add to this thread later. It would be interesting to see what people make of these if they end up using them, so please let me know if you do. Smile

Big metal serving dish hit, and then moved closer to the mic as a kind of acoustic dynamics effect. Recorded with a Sony stereo mic and Dat.

Thank you both! You have encouraged me to find more bits from that session, so here hey are...

I have edited these files to make them shorter, and cleaned up the recording somewhat.

Otherwise I have left them untouched so that you can make your own decisions about what to do with them.
