kewl Paul and Jez, thanks so much! I'm a bit nervous about getting new material, but with 12 shows of old material now it should be ok. The ambient ChucK was a surprise for me! Glad you enjoyed it.

Wow man, the ChucK Show was pure chaos this week. ChucK shut down so I had to pull the plug and go into emergency backup mode! That's when I break the connection from the eMac to the netbook and the netbook automatically switches to the microphone so I can at least transmit my voice.

Fortunately I had planned to play guitar on the show which I did while rebooting the eMac. What a mess. But it was fun and everyone enjoyed the show and had nice things to say.

I think I'll continue to have guitar segments and even chuck project infomercials, lol, just to add some variety. Thanks to the 17 people who tuned in, hope you enjoyed it.

Last week's show went smoothly. I tried out some guitar synths in ChucK and talked a lot. I liked it enough that this week I'm going to talk even more. In fact, I'm going to change the focus of the show a little to reach a broader audience.

What I'll do is more introductory material such as the origins of ChucK, what you can do with it, the structure of a ChucK program, etc. I'll be speaking into kijjaz's psychedelic guitar effect vocoder thingie from 2008, but I changed it a little. Hope you enjoy the show.

For the next show I have programmed a controller in ChucK. It works with my homemeade "mixer" which has a mic and a guitar jack, amplifiers, and sends the voice and guitar in on the left and right channels of the line-in jack. That way I can receive two separate streams and handle them as I wish.

The image below shows the MAUI GUI for the program. You can see it has some bells and whistles including distortion + washing machine for the guitar, a noise reducer for the mic (which is a rather noisy cheap mic), and an eight step drum sequencer with two channels (for the left and right hands of the drummer).

I plan to add other features to this thingie and make cool music on the show with it. Later gator.
