(My original post in the other forum used exactly that wording and then I decided it was too over-the-top of a claim and toned it down before pressing Submit, so then coming here and seeing you have a button made me wish I hadn't censored myself.)
I was watching this little clip here and it reminded me of the potential of these pieces and the truth that it only takes one crazy yet persistent Maniac to start something big, influence thousands, and change the course of history.
It's also interesting to me since that is exactly how I would dance back in the day and I was considered crazy and people would give me looks, now, 20 years later it seems to be the way the young folks are doing things. Heh. Won that one. Ouch, my aching back. You kids, get off the lawn.

at this point I can quote George Bernard Shaw:
George Bernard Shaw wrote:
"The reasonable man adapts himself to the conditions that surround him... The unreasonable man adapts surrounding conditions to himself... All progress depends on the unreasonable man."
have you noticed the exponential growth of the number of dancing people on the clip? _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Yes, it was remarkable that when it rains it pours. For a long time people are giving him looks like he is crazy, then all the sudden there is a mad rush.
Malcolm Gladwell calls this phenomenon The Tipping Point.
It's got its good and bad sides. The bad side is the more commonly reported effects of mass hysteria. I don't know that there is a way to focus towards good versus bad outcomes, those that try to force things usually end up creating a bad outcome, hence the nearly inevitable conclusion of most experiments at creating utopias. Perhaps that is the pattern. Contrived and controlled efforts result in tragedy and death, whereas truly organic, free and natural progress do not and lead to life and celebration. Or maybe not. I can think of counterexamples. It seems intrinsically chaotic and uncontrollable.
For some reason my favorite example of a tipping point is the history of Scrabble.
I love the discussions here on E-M too, there are some lovely gems hidden here and there, even on topics that do not have any immediate interest to me. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum Bandcamp

Another nice one, excellent work Carlo! I'm inspired to make a flute using my accelerometer controller. _________________ "Let's make noise for peace." - Kijjaz
