hihi

im wiring up my SCM and am confused about the 3 position switches
you mention that you use a 1 pole on-off-on
how is this done?

does that mean that one state is always on?

I am sourcing parts and working out a panel for this module right now so the issues associated with it are on my mind. I am using rotaries for those three but you can definitely do it with toggles. Here's a link to fonik's schematic:

http://www.modular.fonik.de/files/ononon.gif

I think he posted an english translation on the em forum once but I can't find it - the picture tells the story well enough though, I think.

Good luck,

Mark

what's the issue?

Matthias, could the error be in the one we found with the original pcb payout? Remember there was an error in the schematic as confirmed by TH? I believe it was a transistor.

thanks for the suggestion.
i can remember that error, however, the error was in the original schematic from the book and on the 1st prototype accordingly. this has been corrected both in the redrawn schematic and in the manufactured PCB.
since i made the new design from the working redrawn schematic/PCB this should not be the problem.

in fact i see 5V on the 5V rail as long as no SN76477 is in the socket. as soon as i put it in the 5V rail changes to 7V (sic!)...
alas, i had the wrong socket on the PCB in the first place and had to remove it, which did not work well. i guess i did something to the PCB when removing the socket. i am currently assembling the spare PCB. hope it works well then...

so some progress. a little. i now see the 5V. obviously a fault/short in the PCB after removing the wrong socket... Rolling Eyes

okay. the sn76477 ist still not working though. ridiculous. more checks to do...

With blessings from Matthias and using a Eurorack Front panel designed by Cameron Korth, and an SMT PCB for it, we are creating a new version of the Super Controller with a couple extra features. Kits, panels, and PCB's will be available through Synthcube. I am in the midst of doing the dimensioning and layout will be next.

Further status shall be reported in this thread.

Bill

Finally the Eurorack Supercontroller front panels are completed by CJ Korth and I have completed the design and testing of the new SMT PC Board. Everything has gone well and another classic design by Thomas Henry has now been cast into the popular EURORACK modular format.

The panels and PC boards will be sold over at Synthcube later this spring.

Not sure how I missed this before today, Bill, but dang! That's great! I'll definitely be getting one of these to replace my old 19" rack version. Very Happy

One question: those 2 trimmers on the back. Are you sure the screw portion will clear a rack rail? I suppose you could get the kind that have the screw facing up instead of on the side, in a pinch.
