What about the G2 editor?!?
Will it run under snow leopard?
Wouldn't want to render my modular useless...

Washington Post reported that people who are still on 10.4 (such as myself) would have to cough up $170 for the Apple box set, just to get snow leopard. But I heard a rumor that the snow leopard upgrade disk would also work on 10.4...? Does anybody know more about this?

I'd pay $30-50 for the upgrade, but I'm not especially interested in buying iLife and iWork just to get the newest, slickest OS.

James

You can apparently even install the cheap version on a new disk without tiger or leopard.

I´ve used 10.6 since it was released. So far I´m more than pleased with the new version. There are some issues regarding incompatibilities, but these are fairly easy to sort out.

4 points out of 10. 6 points deducted for that obscene act of killing the printed manuals for Logic Studio. If there is a God he will turn you into salt slabs, cut off your foreskins and throw you into the pits of Hell.

Right.. well.. apart from that .... 10.6 is all good. Shocked

This seems much, much better in 10.6.

Well all installed and no problems yet.

Noticed default gamma has changed, all a bit darker now.

VMWare Fusion runs much quicker.

Minimise to application icon is nice.

Docks nicer, like the hold the mouse down to see the apps windows bit.

Everything seems to be working!

I'm a bit miffed about this, because Apple obviously seem to think that books made of paper are dead? Evil or Very Mad

Right.. and they claim that profiles and colour management will handle this issue transparently... as if..

This is not a problem for those who roll their own colour management workflows and do their own profiling.

And basically the less gifted won´t notice anything.. because as they say; the automatic built-in colour management will handle this anyway.

I've just heard from somewhere else, that in some apps, the colour picker has stopped working in 10.6. Do you want to check this?

Any idea which apps?

Cisco VPN stopped working, re-install fixed it.

Logitech mouse has limited functionality, no update available from logitech.

Screen updates slower as far as I can see, especially noticeable in expose and spaces.

ProTools still not working so thats one good thing.
