Noodles are "self-playing" patches.
I think Pan Punter (Blue Hell) may have coined the term as related to the Nord Modular and G2 patches.

I like to think of the term "noodle" as representing the tangled spaghetti of wires you see on a synth front panel, though I don't know if that has anything to do with the term's origin.

I see. Well I know track 5 is not a "self-playing" patch, because I contributed that myself.
And one will not see any wire spaghetti on a EMS synth, because it has an X-Y patchboard Very Happy
