"Play me, I'm yours" |

Anyone living in Bristol would have noticed that pianos have been placed around the city, for people to play - outdoors, in public places. One of them is placed right outside of our front door, and there are 15 more spread across the city.
I did a search to see why they are there and for how long they will be there and thought I'd share with you.

Long story short: This idea has been touring the world, and has ended in Bristol to celebrate the opening of a refurbished concert hall. Luke Jerram, the man behind the project, got the idea when he went to his local launderette and realised that nobody talks to each other in public. Pics and vids in the page linked to above.
I will try to do something and record it as well, but I am quite shy when it comes to actually playing a real instrument so I must overcome that first (or go early in the morning). _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

That's what I thought! They are far from in perfect tune, but no honky-tonk either.
They just removed the one in front of our house so I guess they relocate them and tune them in the process.
However, I doubt the normal punter will notice or care too much, as the idea is to entice amateurs as pros to play and get into conversation, not give a perfect concert performace... _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

There was a piano in the Plaza mini-centre on Oxford Street. I wanted to go and have a play but I was too shy.
Plus, I can't actually play piano, only fake it.
Great idea, though! _________________ My music: here! |

That image from the site. I don't know if that kid can play, but he already knows how to pose for the publicity pictures. _________________ --Howard
