Techno Subject description: What sounds good? |
|
|
I am starting to like techno and the idea that music can be made purely from electronics is good for what I am into. I am still wanting a certificate in robotics for those of you wondering.
Anyway, what music is there that sounds good but has no profanity. I am Christian so I am one of those people that stays away from that stuff. I do listen to Linkin park so cuss words don't bother me. |

It would be hard for others to tell what music would be profane for you, not? There is no such thing as universal (christian) profanity I think .. or would it be un-christian
Test it, if you dont like it then maybe stay away from it ... don't stay away from anything because others tell you you must. _________________ Jan

Is there a tendency for more gentle, non-provocative stuff, or is that just the stuff I'm into personally these days? I've been listening a lot lately to Minotaur Shock, which I absolutely love.

Profane verses provocative Subject description: Trying to stay away from the two |

It can be some music with a lot of base it just can't be provocative as I am trying to stay away from it. I as well have an accountability partner to check up on me and I would not want to have to explain my new hobby is getting me into trouble. |

What kind of music do you like, loud and powerful, or more subdued? When you say "techno" do you mean like actual hard, industrial-sounding beats and stuff? Or do you just mean having a computery, electronic sound?
for a selection calmer stuff but that still has a beat, i like the nordic lounge compilations a lot. for more poppy stuff, i really like some of the songs on the "this is tech pop: 21st century electro and new wave".
there is also minimal stuff like ritchie hawtin, which from the little bit i've heard seems to be almost all made of slowly morphing electro beats.
and of course there is the mighty kraftwerk. i think the most risqué lyrics they've ever produced are "i need a data date", or maybe "she is a model and she's looking good". _________________ solo: http://www.myspace.com/skippyvodka

Me I like the idea of the noise being made electronically instead of samples but how can you tell the difference between the two. I really like rock and some metal. Here is the hardest metal that I listened to below. It is not the hardest or the heaviest metal out there but it is pretty good.

Also I love the idea of a cross genre between techno and rock. It is interesting what you come up with when you put together some string instruments with electronic. |

Man you're really creeping me out. What's an accountability partner? Sounds vaguely.. or explicitly.. cultish.

From what i read im not sure if you actually like techno or just electronic music in general. When it comes to techno i like more hardstyle. I would also suggest progressive and electro house. dubstep is getting more popular and is what i would consider the metal of electronic music. Try listening to Porter Robinsons Spitfire album i love it. Most electronic music doesnt really have lyrics so not much profanity to avoid. Like try this song maybe its Cobra by Hardwell
